I've always had mine balanced...I have them use the hammer on weights, bc the sticky weights get knocked off by my calipers.

i cant use the sticky weights because of the calipers will rip them off.
should i use the hammer on weights. and at what pressure should i speed balance? i usally use 12-15psi at the track...
the other question is when the walls wrinkle (at a launch) will the side weights tear the side wall....... that my main concern i dont want to kill my self....

thanks for all your replies guys.....

its a waste of time. when u balance them they will take some obscene weight like 5-6 ounces. then u will go to the track do some burnouts and a few launches and go right back to the balancer and they will be out another 5-6 ounces. everytime u spin that tire it throws the balance off. trust me its a waste of time.

im figureing it going to take at least 5-8 oz. @ 25 psi,
im at 420 at the rear and i do spin the tire loose after a run (street slicks)
the tire does not stay still on the rim it moves about 1-3 in. (12-15 psi)
so what should i do....

never use hammer on weights...sticky weights WILL work. Just be sure to place them away from the caliper. I don't typically balance rear wheels either...but you certainly can if you wish.

balance is point less for slicks, and if they take 5-8 oz. something is relly wrong. ive never seen a tire that is going on a car take that much. most 20's dont take that much.

but like said, your just gonna spin the weights off, or move the tire on the rim.

good luck

Slicks almost always take that much. Thats why no one balances them after they see that the first time.

What about when using a street tire on Bogarts, like a BFG drag radial? Do you guys usually balance the fronts (hammer on or tape weights)?

no 20 should take that much. a slick is a completely different animal. thats like saying your parrot shouldnt eat kibbles and bits.
