Default Garbage tire??

99 SS stock wheels, khumo ecsta supras on the car when i bought it, lately as tread wear is a little less than half life now ive been noticing its almost impossible to get it to track straight if there is a crack running in the road, or on a major road where you can see the road sink a little where the tires go.....the car pulls left and right really fast when im in these "ruts" making it hard to do higher speeds, i'm talking anything about 70....is this my tires or do you guys think something is broken in the front end? I just had it cam installed and tuned and the guys at the shop drove it and didnt say anything about front end so im assuming its just bad tires? Would a narrower tire up front help this or just better tire? TIA

its the tires, they have a tread pattern thats shaped like a V right? the asymetrical style tires have a tendancy to follow road crown really badly, especially if they are wide. i have 275's not asymetrical, and on the bad roads out here with big groves in them my car wants to wander all over the place. not a whole lot you can do about it accept up the tire pressure a little bit, but your going to lose traction that way (in most cases) so its not really recommended

its possible that a smaller tire will be less apt to pull, but even a 255 tire is still pretty wide when it comes to modern cars. the biggest thing mainly is to get away of the V type tread design if possible. your still going to notice a pull, but it wont be as extreme.

I have the Kuhmo's and yes they do suck when following the tracks in the road. And I know the 275's on front and 285's out back really doesn't help the situation much. A few good things to note on these tires is they're cheap, they do pretty good in for what you're paying, and they have an even treadwear.

Agreed, but i'd rather spend the extra money when it comes down to top speed and what not. Guess i'll just take it easy till i can afford new tires...lol give me about 2 years...need a clutch too.
