Default Rubbing Issue

I just put a set of black Y2K thin spoke C5 wheels on my car. The car is lowered 1" and the rear tires are 275 /40/R18 Nitto 555. I have noticed when going down the highway over 50 mph when you let off the throttle it almost sounds like something is grinding. I pulled the wheels off and used a BFH to beat the areas that I could tell had been rubbing in. I also felt around the tire and I have a little more than a quarter inch of clearance all the way around. The car has a Moser 12 bolt with 4.10 gears and I was wondering if it is common for the rear end to move that much. I don't think the gears are messed up because it was doing it before I twisted the drive shaft in half the other night. I would think that if the gears were screwed it would have trashed them first. Any help is greatly appreciated because this is driving me F*@king Nuts.
