Default Measureing wheel width

Is there a way for me to tell how wide my rims are with the tires still on them? Also whats the biggest tire i can run on a 18x10.5(i think thats what i got but i'm not sure) rim? I wanna run 315's but i'm not sure.

I'm not sure but it depends on the tire...my 315 Nitto 555R's are on an 11" wheel and they look a lot tighter than the 275 555's on my front 9.5" wheels...it really looks like I could fit a bigger tire on there.

315 is about the widest you can run o a 10.5" wheel. As for determining wheel width while a tire is on there, possible the diemntions are cast or ground into the wheel, or run a ruler/tape through the wheel, get the over all dimention and subtract 1" for the beads. That will give you a rough measurement.
