I like the staggered look. More agressive "old school" looking

I dont like anything bigger than 17's on these cars. Not to mention just slows them down more.

I am running 18X9.5's all the way around with 285/35/18's and love the setup. They are on chrome zo6's.

not true. if you chose correct tires, 17's and 18's should have the same overall diameter, so that leaves weight as the only issue of "slowing down"... if you read the common wheel weights sticky, a 17x11 TT2 weighs in at 27lbs without a tire, while a 18x9.5 Y2K weighs 20lbs. while the front 17x9.5 TT2 weighs 24lbs, and a 17x8.5 Y2k weighs 18.

tt2 total weight without tires: 102lbs

Y2k total weight without tires: 78lbs

you can see where im going with this.

Less sidewall=less traction. This is why you use 15" Prostars at the track. My 17" Firehawk rims weigh noticably more than my stock 16"s did and it did affect the performance in certain ways. 18"s would be, well, even heavier.

I agree that a shorter sidewall will give less traction but will also improve handling. It's always a trade off. If you drag more and don't want to swap wheels/tires but still want to keep decent street handling your probably better off with 17's with a larger sidewall. If you want better handling in the corners and don't drag or don't care that your ET's may be slightly higher then go with 18's and a shorter sidewall. Or swap wheels/tires like INMY01TA does and have the best of both worlds.

why not keep your stock wheels for the track, and get 18's for the street? i plan on getting y2k's, like i said they are ALOT lighter than most street 17's you see, like zo6's, tt2's, or zr1's...

i was going with tt2's, like everybody else, and people were telling me they felt a very noticable difference in the handling/braking after putting on tt2's, simply because of their weight.

I have 18x 9.5's
275/35 fronts
285/35 rears
I vote for 18's. I think they look better!!

18's look good, but you have so many more tire options, not to mention dr's, with 17's.

Nah not at all, i mean some people have told me to lower my car, taht it would look a little better, but I like driving my car around like normal. Ive driven lowered f-bodies with headers and it sucks having to be super careful going over anything/everything. Ill get some side pics of my car this weekend and post them up for you so you can see how it looks.

275x35x18's. There is a benefit to runing one size and thats rotating them. I'm running 275's up front and 315's out back. 18's.
