Default 1/2'' spacers for rear wheels??

Hey guys, got a question. I have 17x9 Chrome SS 10 spokes with 275/40/17 Firehawk Wide Ovals all around on my Camaro. I was wondering if there was some sort of "spacer" to put between the hub and wheel to widen out the wheel alittle in the rear. So basically making it a 17x9.5. Keep in mind I have drums in the rear, its not a Z/28. Let me know, im kind of doubting this for the drums.

you dont wanna put on a space thats so big that the rim wont sit on that center hub. you dont want your rims just sitting on the studs

ive ran spacers on my car for years and have had no problems, its all in the driver if you beat on your car then eventually theyll break, but if your just cruzing and doing straight line burnouts then youll be fine.

I dont see how it will make it 17x9.5 though??? The wheel is still 9 inches, you just stick 1/2 inch out more to the sides.

Your right, it wouldnt technicaly make the wheel a 17x9.5. But it would widen it out like a 9.5. So where can I get these at? Can I still run them with drums in the rears. Im only using them in the rear, so. Are they a good idea??

I have a couple questions to add. What size spacer do you guys recommend for a stock WS6 wheel? I don't want new wheels but I would like my stock rears to "fill out" the wheel well, especially with say 285 GSD3s. Also, what brand would you recommend?

I'm running a 1/2" spacer on my rears in my WS6. I'm not for sure if it would work with your drums, I doubt it but I could be wrong.

Where did you get the 1/2'' spacers?? Will they work on 10 spoke SS wheels?? And are they the ones with the pressed in studs?? Can you post up before and after pics of it??

ok to do this you would need to do this:

Buyer longer studs for the rear. I believe 3 inch versus the stock 2.5 inch

I had to do this to run my 15's out the rear for my drag rims.

I also ran a spacer. But when I went back to my show look I had to take the 3 inch studs out and go back to 2.5's

NEVER run a spacer without longer studs. You run the risk of breaking your studs and the rims flying off. The 150 bucks you spend installed is alot better than a casket.

Almost but not quite, I was just adding on to what you asked in regards to what size people recommend and what brand. I am sure you were wondering the same thing, I just asked the question to make it more explicit.
Anyways, does anyone have any before/after pics with their spacers?
I saw on Thunder's website that they have Baer spacers, anyone have any experiences with them? They also have ARP 3.25" studs, I am assuming you meant those instead of 3"?

Mine were on the car when I got it. They should work just fine on 10 spoke SS rims. I've got an old pic of the rear of the car, doesn't show the angle real well but I'll try and get some better pics of the spacers and rims on the car.

I ordered the Baer 1/2" spacers from Thunder Racing a couple weeks ago. They're on national backorder and they don't know when they'll have them in stock. I also ordered 2.5" ARP studs from Summit. You can't get an adapter spacer (with pressed-in studs) smaller than 1". And there are alot of cars rolling around without hubcentric wheels/spacers that are perfectly safe. Hubcentric is ideal, but not necessary.
