Wheel idea? Good or bad?

Wheel idea? Good or bad? Hey everyone...I was getting creative trying to think of something new in terms of wheels and tires. I was thinking, since I'm going a bit more retro with my car...cowl hood, satin black accents, Berger panel, old Z/28 badging, why not keep that up? I was thinking about this...wondering how it would look to take black ZR1's and, instead of a polished lip, have a semi-gloss or satin red lip. It's controversial, but I'm thinking back to old musclecars with the red lines on the tires. Most of you will hate it, I'm sure, but please confirm. I will have a photoshop of it up soon.
Well, if you're going for the retro look I'd probably do TT2's instead of the ZR1's. I know painted lip wheels are an import trend now. Black with red lip is a Honda thing. It might look okay, but I'd have to see a pic.

****, I'm at work right now, so no Photoshop...I was thinking of a real thin red line like that first picture. I know it might be crazy but i was thinking it'd be different, but at what expense? I'll chop it tonight.

If you went that route I'd go with some polished or chrome TT2's if you can get them in 18".
Diamond Back Classics will custom make any line on any tire you want. You just have to call them. I talked to them last year at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville KY about the redline tires. They said they have house brand tires they normally use but if you want a specific brand of tire with a redline they can do that. They're not cheap though...I think it was about $500 per tire for BFG KDW's with the redline added to them. Redline tires are on my "someday" list of things I'd like to do on my car.
well the car i saw it on was a 02 anniversay SS Nickey car, and it had light gray almost white 18 TT2 wheels, with redline tires, best of all the car was Twin turbo, it was awesome.....

I was curious about how this would look...so I pulled pics from my favorite 'retro' looking cars on the site. Sorry if this offends anyone whos car is pictured, think of it as a compliment...because it doesnt look too bad at all on the right car...
I lined up the red with outer edge/lip of the wheel..figuring that if you put the red on the wheel it would be much cheaper and last longer than doing it on the tire
