Default Peeling chrome?

I have a set of stock 99 SS wheels that the chrome is bubbled up and peeling. What is the best way to remove all of the chrome without hurting the aluminum? I would like to get the wheels powder coated.

You'll probably have to find a place that can chemical strip them, or use a soft blasting material, such as soda or walnut hulls. I wouldn't use sand or anything too abrasive.

Thanks for the tips. I have a feeling it would cost way more than they are worth to have them redone. I will probably just sell them and get something else.

I would think the place doing the powder coating would do the prep.
