Default Guys with Nitto's C'mon In

hey guys, I'm going to try and make it out to the track for the first time this year (i know, i'm late)

and I was wondering about my Nitto555R's

I was thinking about running them at 18psi? Lower? Higher? Just right?

Also what are you guys doing to warm them up?

I've got a line lock but I'm thinking maybe I'll take forever to lock it, smoke 'em for 10 seconds and then pull up

Is pulling through the box and just dropping the clutch at 4k rpm's going to be enough to warm them up? I heard you really gotta heat these things up

thanks guys

I'd start at 18psi and go as low as 15 but no lower.
I use my linelock and wait till I see constant smoke before I roll out.
rolling through the water box and dropping it at 4k is not going to be enough, unless you hit the bottle when you drop it.

I ran mine between 16 and 18 psi depending on track prep

I set em at 18psi, warm em up with a real good burnout and they still don't hook.

I have learned that white smoke needs to pour out, for my tires to hook. I pull low 1.6 all day long. As Z28 said between 16-18 psi at the track. I know on the street I drive with 25 psi

Matt, my best short times on the Nittos came at 12psi cold.

I would try 18 and 15psi. Mine always liked a good amount of heat. Deffinatly use the line lock and then go to town, check your mirrors for smoke, when you see a decent amount, shut the line lock down, keep your foot in it and roll out as far as you can without rolling through the beams.

You can also run them through the water box if you want, but make sure you back into it if your not running skinnies and make sure the guy directing the water box lets you give them a quick spin in the water box and then he brings you out acouple of feet to do your burnout on dry pavement/concrete.

Take as much time as you want doing your burnout, checking your bottle pressure/purging, checking your gauges, and staging. If the guy in the other lane has a problem with it, he can go **** himself while he waits.

And be prepared to drive, with the 6-speed an the bottle, I bet you shock the hell out of those poor Nittos.
