im buyin em today, so plz post

also, since their all speed rated at V, does that mean you cannot go above 149 MPH? Honestly, Im not going to go that fast, however I just want to know if thats what it means, that if you take the car above its recommended speed rating the tire will explode like a piece of **** yes?

Yes, speed rated at 149MPH. They are not designed for sustained high speeds. The amount of heat tires are put through at those speeds is pretty intense.

The 315s fit on stock 17x9s, but I would just go ahead and try the BFGs.

275/40/17s

I have used the bfgs, nittos, mickeys. I love nittos. I have cut 1.7s on all 3 tires.
1.7s on nittos with a lowered 6 speed car. Who ever says nittos dont hook or hook like street tires is full of crap.

See my sig, I put 568tq to the ground, nittos held up for me. Must be the driver.

You want 275/40/17 BFGS.

You still haven't mentioned how much street driving you plan to do on these. I take it these will be on 100% of them time?

I personally like the BFGs better. BUT, if your going to be driving around all the time I guess I'd sway towards the Nittos...

Gah, your confusing me with all these different sizes. Why 10 over 40 or 35?

Im talking about this number 275 40 R17

Don't confuse that number, as if it were a measurement in MM. That second number is called the tires aspect ratio.

It's based on a percentage of the tires width. That 275/40/17 has a sidewall height of 4.33". A 315/35/17 has a sidewall height of 4.34". So you see, the sidewall number is percentage value.

For instance on a 275/40/17, the 40 represents the fact that the sidewall is 40% of the tires 275mm width.

Let me know if you're still confused.

Does it matter how big the sidewall is in relation to the tire? What aspect does the sidewall play in how the tire performs?

Also do you know what the difference is between the BFG Gforce 1 and the BFG G force 2?

How does it affect DR tires, or tires in general? The thinner the sidewall, the less flex it's going to have. Great for handling, not great for hooking from a dig/at all.

The difference is with a DR in 17/18" sizes, is that the sidewall/tire compound are MUCH softer than a regular radial. So that helps offset the small sidewall, and allows the tire to grab much better than it normally would.

For an all drag setup, obviously you want that big soft sidewall, so 15/16" wheels are the norm.

As for the Gforce 1/2. They are the same tire, just a different name.

The 1st ones were actually named Comp TA Drag Radials. They changed the name to Gforce TA DR, but maintained the same tread pattern compound. So no difference there at all, they just changed the name.

Well I dont know why you recommended for me to buy a tire with a 10% sidewall "275/10/17s." I dont even think they make that for my car.

Im either going to get the 315 35 17 nittos or 275 40 17 BFGs..... I think... Now its just deciding which one to get..

I run my 275/40/17 555Rs on my TA. I daily drive the car, in rain and everything. They do fine. Just be careful, as with any DR. I got them because they last longer, and I've had no problem hooking at the track.

there have been plenty of opinions and facts stated. What exactly are you looking for opinion wise? Get the 275s and call it a day.
