Default would i need modding?

hey i am just wondering if i were to go with a 18x10.5 or a 18x11 wheel in the back, would i have to do any modifications so that they wouldn't rub or scrape at all? I am thinking about the c6 z06 wheels for my 97 Z. I am rather new to the whole wheele setup area so if you can dumb it down, that would be appreciated. Thanks, all pics welcome!

The wider the wheel and tire the greater the possibility of needing mods . .

Depending on the offsets, which lets say for a 10.5" wheel one can run between a 38 and 57 mm offset . . . . the bigger the offset is the greater the need for inner wheel well mods, the smaller the offset the greater the need for outer wheel well lip mods . . .

A 10.5" wheel with about a 45 mm offset would net you the least amount of mods if any . . .

i hear some people are just taking a bfh to their wheelwells. All they are doing is just banging them in a little for more clearance right?
