I did hours of research on this question. I have come with 2 answers. I have lt1 and ls1 and have both of these tires.

Kumho MX
Firesteon Wide Oval

I think the end the price is going to even out when you figure it miles. I got over 23k on my MX which is good for a 220 tire and still have some to go. The firestone should get 30k and there a bit higer so in the long run I think it will even out.

These tires are good. I wouldn't get the bottom of the barrel and then if you get the best you paying for the name and 5-8% performance gain to about 35% increase in price.

Hope that helps.

It is not only what tire, but from where. There are a lot of independent tire retailers out there that do ridiculous markups where you end up paying $1000 installed for a set of tires that could easily cost you $500-600 plus $100 installation and insurance from places like America's Tire/Discount Tire.

Assuming that you have the stock 17s, I would recommend the Fuzion Zri tires from Bridgestone/Firestone. You can easily drive 30,000 miles on these tires, if you don't abuse of them too much.

I agree with him, the Fuzions are the best bang for the buck and almost everyon can agree on that. I'm wrapping my new Y2K rims in them this winter :-).

I love my Nitto 555s. Got them from Discounttiredirect.com (sponsor). There prices are the best, free shipping, and no tax (if you live in another state).
