Default Painting stock wheels black

Hello i have a set of stock 97" trans am wheels and wanted to paint them black how do i accomplish this.

My friend told me to buy some light grit sand paper and sand the wheels lightly and then spray them with black primer and then with the flat black paint that i bought.

The wheels are allready cleand inside and out and they are preped for sanding. Just wanted to know what your guys advice is if i should be doing it diffrent or useing diffrent matiriels. Thanks

autozone has wheel paint, even with that i think they start to chip after a year or so, but just lightly sand them, and they make wheel primer/paint at autozone i think its like 5 bucks a can

well i guess ill only have these wheels for a few months only any way, i was planning on getting some American Torq Wheels with the black spokes and the chrome lip.

But ill have to wait till i buy my new hood cuz the one i have right now is the 4" tall cowl and i reallt can't see through the front window so ill just buy a smaller one.
