Yes, the 40 series tire is going to have a higher sidewall than the 35. That's because the 40 (or 35) is the aspect ratio which determines tire height. Basically it means that the sidewall height is 40% of the tire width, hence it being a ratio.

As far as brands go... you usually get what you pay for. Oh, and yes, the taller tire will change your gear ratio, and mess up your speedo.

I had one dilaminate on me at over 80 mph. POS tires. I learned from that mess back in 2003. Now it is no holds barred when it comes to tire purchase.

i got the goodyear eagle f1 gs d3's and they rock. Look sweet perform even better. I have a stock 00 ws6 vert a4 and on dry pavement when tires are warm and i **** can it from a dead stop sometimes i can even get them to spin just hook and go. I am very satisfied with them. Now i just need more power for the traction

Well let me know guys if I got allright tires?? I let my dad borrow my car since it was riding on a spare and when he brought it back he bought two new 275/40ZR18 Falken tires, so I wonder if they are any good.

Falken are supposed to be a lot like the Toyo Proxies, and have a 300 treadwear they should last a while.
