I def did do my homework My brother and I built up his SS blindly (a.k.a. before we were part of LS1tech) and it cost us a ton of $$$ in repairs and headache. Every mod I do from now on is def mapped out. You should be pretty safe in FL, all flat and no snow/salt to ruin the roads.
