Default staggered look?

I am in the market for the HP design Evo's and i saw where you could stagger them. but the thing that's tripping me up is there are different ways to go about it. could go 18x8 front and 18x9 back or could do 18x9 front and 19x9.5 on back....or could even do 18x8 on front and 19x9.5 in back. See where i'm getting lost??? lol anyways has anyone done this with these rims or other rims?? if so did it affect yoru stance or your speedometer? if ya got pics that woudl be nice too! thanks for any help you can give!!!

The size of the rim really doesn't matter, it's tho "overall" size including the tires
that will make the speedo off. Just stick to as close as possible to the original
overall diameter of the original wheel/tires and you'll be ok

Definitely a matter of personal preference. I am running the very common ZR1 wheel combo of 17 x 9.5 in the front 17 x 11 in the back, and I think it looks sweet on our cars to have as much rubber as possible on the rears.

Naturally there is the issue of not being able to rotate the tires, but oh well. My car is an extreme case since I am running BFG KD tires all the way around. They are not only directional but also positional, meaning there is a left and right tire. So in my case, each tire only has one place it can be.

As mentioned by cocimitch, it's no biggie if you wanna do a 18/19 combo, you just have to keep the overall diameter of the tire as close to 25.6" as possible and you'll be fine. To do that, you just have to pick the right tire. You will compensate the larger diameter of the wheels with tires that have a lower aspect ratio, meaning, a tire with a smaller, and stiffer, sidewall. That improves handling, but isn't the greatest for traction.

Go to Disount Tire or Tire Racks website and take a look at the dimensions of each tire that you are interested in and pick the one closest to 25.6" and you'll be fine.

Good luck!

Exactly. Rim size doesn't matter at all (unless your getting a 28" rim ). I can't think of an exact measurement off the top of my head, but let's pretend. It'd work like this, 255/60/15 would be 27.0472" high very close to the same as a 295/55/19 (27.1299). Do a search, I'm sure you'll find it.

All the tire reading is: 295 (tread width in mm), 55 means 55% of 295mm, and 19 is the rim size, ie - 295/55/19. So all you do to find the tire height is 295 - 55% (which is 132.75mm) then multiply that by 2 (since the tire is a circle, you'll be measuring the sidewall twice) which would give us 265.5 mm, convert 265.5 mm into inches (9.7441) by finally add in the size of the rim (19). So we get 27.1299.

Easy as pie.

get something wider than 9.5".

You cant put a very wide tire on a rim that size.

You dang 4th gen guys suck!!!

9.5 is about as wide as I can go...unless I move my leaf springs in or want the tire to hang out a bunch.
