Lightbulb Wheels for 70 Chevelle SS

I enjoy shopping for wheels too much. Here are some that I've rounded down to for the '70 SS 454, trying to stick with a retro theme in 18" sizing.

Intro Wheels "Rally"

Intro Wheels "Speedstar"

Speedstar with custom paint (my photoshop):

I've also considered ordering another set of 18" TT2 Classics like I have on my orange '69 Camaro. Just love the classic look!

Any other ideas or opinions?

Tony

The third choice you photoshop'd is real nice. Try it with some 18in rally repro wheels.
That car is real nice BTW.

The photoshopped speedstars would look amazing. I like how the colors are inverted from the stock wheels.

I think they would make it look like a ghetto cruiser. Anything bigger than 15" rims on an old car dont cut it....rarely 16's look ok. Those you had pictured would look good with a lift kit and some nice gold trim, purple velour seats and a boom boom system. Even that camaro looks retarded with those big rims. They just wernt meant to be.

nine ball, if your arent a member od teamchevelle.com or pro-touring.com you should stop by. There are lots of pics to be seen of wheel/tire combo's.
If you really want retro wheels keep the ones you have but get them in 18's. http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel...ubcat3=1031106

Here is some more choices for you. There is also a file towards the bottom of the page in an excel file. Definitley check it out. http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167477

Hope this help a little.

The same has also been said about putting an LSX into an older car. The wheels I posted are far from "ghetto". I'm sorry your taste just sucks, you should work on that.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I think I'd go with a set of polished TT2's. I'm not the biggest fan of those wheels on newer cars but they're pretty much unbeatable on 60s-70s muscle. I'd go polished over the gunmetal because the car is red/black and I think that adding a third color to the scheme would be too much. Black wheels would match the stripes nicely but I don't care for black wheels either...hence, I say go with polished.

Nothin better an a 70 SS 454!
My 2 cents is go with the Speedstar with custom paint (black) ...it'll
look similar to the original wheels but with 18" of MEAT !

Nice cars Nine Ball - defenately NOT GHETTO

I would definitely consider Coy's C-5's. They look great on Camaros & Chevelles...!!! (and they are cheap!)

that looks really good, but then you would have to change the wheels on the 69, your whips cant have the same wheels. what size are those?

^^^^those are 18's. The owner just recently bought some 20's for the rear. Looks very nice. He definitley has one of the nicest chevelles on team chevelle.

Nine Ball -- Would I be correct to assume that you are turning this into a PT car?

radz, I probably won't go as crazy on the suspension in the Chevelle. Probably some lowering springs and wheels. Stuff that is easily reversible, I'll put the stockers in storage when I feel like rolling around stock. The '67 Camaro will be the most modified, then the '69 later.

I've asked Intro about getting the Speedstars above in all-satin centers without the pockets milled in the spokes. It would give off the same visual effect of the TT2 Classics, but be more unique.
