Default question about my sidewall?

Ok, so i just picked up a set of 18 by 9.5 C5 Chrome Z06 wheels, i put them on and i was lke wow, the sidewall on the tires (Perrelli P-Zero) that were on them when i bought em is like almost non-existant, the tires are 275-35-18s and i already decided i was gonna get some 285s on the back and was wondering if i could get some 285-40-18s for the back and some 275-40-18s for the front, anybody done this?

I just put mine on yesterday(275/35/18 on the c5 rim) and i got the same deal. The rim seems like its an inch away from the ground.

Im going to an Fbody meet tomorrow so i'll ask questions.

P275/35R18 are basicly stock height. P285/35R18 are just a little bit taller than stock. (I am running P285 and they just barly fit the frount without rubbing. )

Even if you can get 40s, they will probably rub!!!! And they will defiantly put the car up in the air some.

Well, today i plan on doing the hose mod and lowering the back about 3/4", so maybe that will help close the gap. im gonna run some 285s in the back for sure though, any opinions on what tires i should go with?
