315's and lowering?? Hey guys, Well its time for rims and tires and i wanna lower the car at the same time. I was wondering how bad will tire rub be in the back lowered with 315's? I am gonna use strano springs and koni sa's. Is it a do or a don't? I dont really wanna roll the fenders at this point...Opinions please!!! Thanks |
315's with prokit springs are no problem, my friend runs them on his trans am. dunno about a camaro tho |
Im rocking some stranos out back with qa1 shocks and full qa1s up front. The car sits 3 fingers all the way around the car. I have fikse fm5s with gs-d3 315s. No rubbs for me. Kyle |
When I had a prokit. The tires barely rubbed. When I had sportlines. They always rubbed and I had to get my fenders rolled. |
im going with the exact same setup....315 rear, stranos and konis. havent put them all on yet though, but ive heard they should fit. going to be close though. i have a TA, the rims have the 50mm offset, rather then the ideal 36. |
I had 315s with the G2 springs, which were roughly 2" drop, and didn't rub. |
only other thing i would be worried about is hitting the y-pipe if it hangs low....... |
Just to give you an idea of what I had to do to fit my GS-D3s. I am lowered on a Pro-kit so I had to do a bit more work to get them to fit nicely. Get you a nice hammer and start pounding away. After I thought I had enough, I had to pound some more. After applying a new layer of undercoating, I mounted the wheels and took it for a ride around the block and took them off again. You could see where you had to pound more by where it had rubbed off. I also had to roll my fender lips. It was quite a bit of work, but it was definitly worth it! http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...23/GS-D337.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...23/GS-D340.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...23/GS-D341.jpg |
Thanks guys!! I have a TA so I guess it is just more or less a hit or miss. O well I think Im gonna go for it. A little work for fat tires and a badass look works for me! |

RedRyder518 -- did you have to grind on the bump stop ?? |
prokit and 315 nitto did not rub! |
