Default tape weights

what do u think of tape weights for balancing tires, i got all 4 of my zr1
chromes mounted and balanced to day and one needed about 4 ounces
on one and the other about 3ounce and the two other were only 1ounce. what do u think about tape instead of crimp on weights...

Ideally weights on the rim are better. But tape is the way to go. On my zr1's i run tape. youll mess up your wheels with the other ones. As long as the guy who did it knows what he's doing youll be ok. although 4 oz is a little much. Depends on what tire your running though. If its a good shop like discount tire they can road force the tires. They can actually tell where the wheel and tire should be mounted at. This can reduce the amount of weight> USUALLY> drive it and see how they feel. IF you notice any vibrations from the steering wheel its your fronts the floor its your rears.

Tape weights work just as good as clip on....If you have a wheel with thin spokes and you dont want the ugly tape weights being exposed on the inside barrel of the wheel, you can ask for a "static clip on balance" . this is where only 1 clip is put on the inside lip of the wheel so it is invisible. It is harder to obtain a smooth ride from this type of balance, but can be done....but i work in a tire store so i can balance my wheels as often as i want till they are absolutly perfect lol
