Z06 Motorsports offset question.

Z06 Motorsports offset question. My privats clear coat was bad, so DT gave me a credit for 2 wheels, which gave me enough to get 3 Z06 motorsports for the credit and I only had to buy 1.
My question is when I ordered the wheels were 120.65 17x9.5 54 offset, but when I left DT today after they installed them, I looked at my receipt and says 120.65 17x9.5 38mm offset. Is it even possible for 38mm to work with those wheels?? I am thinking the box was wrong they were shipped in, because they fit better than I thought with the edge just perfect with the fenders and the Privats at 49mm sat in too far for me.
