Avon Tyres... I just got a set of M500's from Tire Rack and much to my surprise I found out that they were made in the USA. Also Tire Rack is running a special on them.
Avon is owned by Cooper. Cooper and Goodyear are the only domestic tire manufacturers left. Lots of tires are made in the USA, but many of those brands are owned by foreign corporations (ie: BF Goodrich, owned by Michelin).
Cooper make excellent tires. I've had them on everything I drive, and I'm quite impressed. They have many names: Cooper, Avon, and Mastercraft are probably the most popular.
So, how do you like the tires?... excuse me, tyres...

Just wanted to give some feedback on the M500's. They seem just a bit wider than the Falkens I had on the vehicle. On a 17x9 the sidewalls angle inward slightly. Handling is crisp at 32 psi front. Grip seems very good. Ride quality is darn good- they are a very quiet tire.
very good tire for the street in everything from what I've read. The only downside is that a 245/50-16 weighs 30lbs, about 3-4lbs more than a goodyear gsd3. Nice looking tyre and good bang for your buck. Good luck with them.
I've got Cooper Lifeliner SLE Sport in 275-40-17 on my WS6 rims. They are a very good tire. Grip in cornering is good, the ride is smooth, and they are very quiet. Straight line traction is lacking, but this is an LS1, so what can be expected.
