15s and 17s = goofy looking

Maybe 16s and 17s or 17s and 18s but 2" will be pretty noticeable.

and he's obviously doing it backwards

If you're gonna run a 15 up front do it in the rear too so you'll benefit from the sidewall.

You're talking about maybe a tenth in ET and 1 mph at best with those 15x4s over a 17 and a street tire up front. I'm speaking from experience here, been there done that, and a skinny/radial combo up front didn't show much if any gain at the track. Weather will account for that little of difference.

skinnies help a lot... i don't know what you're talking about.

unsprung reciprocating weight = less e.t.

i gained .2 in similar weather conditions and identical 60' times. and that was with a pro-star and a radial tire, not some super light bogarts w/ bias ply skinnies.

Personally, for a street driver car I wasn't that impressed with the gains I had. I had the jegs star 15x4s and 165 kuhmos. This is probably why I didn't see much gain. I was comparing my experience with a similar wheel to the 15x4 TT2 the thread starter mentioned.

For an all out track car, maybe .2 is worth it, for me I'd rather save my time/effort/money and keep the 17s up front.
