Need some advice

Currently have a 00 WS6 with the 17" factory wheels and factory size tires... I have some Y2k C5 wheels that I was going to put on. The rears are 18".
So my question is, What size tire would I need for the 18" that would be the same overall height as the 275/40/17... I was thinking about going with a 295/35/18... Would they be near the same overall height?
My main concern is the speedo being a few mph's off..

why not run a 275 40 18?

how wide are they? i wouldnt run a 40 sidewall with an 18 rim...idk. i have 275/35 on my 18 inch rim. looks perfect on a car that is lowered. a 295/35 would be a great choice for the rear as long as the rim is atleast 10 inches wide

I have 285-35-18's on the back. No problems at all.

Well Im not sure how wide the wheels are... Im guessing they can handle a 295 since they are corvette rims..

So a 285/35/18 would be the same overall diameter as a 275/40/17?
