Default Just ordered....HRE 545's!!!

Hey...

Just a couple questions to ask before HRE oficially starts making the wheels...

I got 18x9.5 in the front...and 18x10.5 in the rear. ( Staggered ) Full Polish

Will the 18x10.5 look good or should the rear be 18x10...?

I dont want the wheel to stick out of the well too much...so will the .5 of an inch make a difference in how much it sticks out?

Dont know toooo much about wheel sizes....so thanks for the help.

Red 00' WS6 btw...

You will be fine. What offset did you order? Did you tell HRE what you are putting them on? If so, they will make the correct offset for your car. They are an AWESOME wheel company to deal with and their stuff is 2nd to none. You will very happy.

Yeah...

HRE know its going on a 00' WS6. So, since there specialists...im sure they will set me up nice.

I cant freakin wait to get those rims. I also got every single lugnut on the rims "Locking". I dont live in that great of an area. A car gets broken into every week where I live! So...yeah, kind of nervous... Thinking of installing lasers inside my centercaps....so that way, if anyone tries to steal them...lasers will shoot out of the centercaps and into peoples eyeballs. good idea? Or should I hire ninjas to stand around my car at night?

I know what you mean, I used to live down there. I love it and hate it at the same time. You need to get a lion to watch it (Grandma's Boy referrence), nobody messes with a lion.

Yeah, I cannot wait until they are on.

When I talked to HRE, I asked them to wrap them up in some, not too expensive....yet...not too cheap, tires. They told me that they would throw some Nitto's on there. Anyone heard good things about that brand?

I will get pics up as soon as I can. My brother is a professional photographer...so, were going to do a photoshoot soon. Now I just have to get that Lion to watch the car and ill be good.

oh yeah 18x10.5 would be the minimum in my opinion...I would have bumped it up to 18x11 like my setup

If you're dropping the coin on HREs and dont live in a good area of town do yourself a favor and get a very good car alarm with a pager installed by a reputable place BEFORE you put the wheels on and get a permit for a gun. Paging car alarm + gun + 20 locking lug nuts = something to alert you if and/or when something goes down, time to get there, and a "deterrent" to persuade the would-be thieves to leave empty handed...and if you gotta shoot, go for the kneecaps.

If they have not started making the wheels yet. I would go ahead and get the centers chromed and then polished lip on it. It will save so much time on them and you really can't tell on them. Here is a pic of them on my girls car with the chrome centers and polished lips. My CCW's are a pain in the *** to polish the center to so it will save alot of time

Thanx for all the advice!

HRE already started making the wheels. They are putting some sort of "clear coat" over the wheels so that they don't chip as easy. Anyone know if that will change the look of the wheel? According to HRE's website, it is an upgrade option that is reccomended.

True about the alarm, gun, beeper, and tigers....

But im gunna be broke after this! I cant even buy lunch at McDonalds ;(

As for chroming the centers, and just polishing the lip...im not sure if i wanna do that, cause chrome is heavier! The full polish is lighter. I can understand the purposes, for saving time on cleaning them, but i would rather have a light wheel that takes 2 hours to clean vs. A heavier wheel that takes 1 hour to clean.

Ill get the pics up in about 3 more weeks.

i would think its just like clear coating your car, it can only help and make it look shinier

Actually not for wheels, clear coating (especially on CCWs) has been known to slightly discolor them a yellowish or dull the shine...Now I have never seen it, this is just what I have read many many times about clear coat on wheels
