315 size tire.........Help Looking for some new tread.. the question is what size... want a wider tire than the stock 275.. My car Arctic wht 02 SS stock height and suspension. what would you all recomend ???????

With stock wheels a 275/40ZR17 is the best. A 285/40ZR17 is the biggest.
Several will follow after me and say bigger tires fit . . . but a square peg will fit in a round hole if you hit it hard enough too . . .
Now with wider wheels, your options change.

You can safely run a 285 on a 9" rim. Do you really think 1/2 " will make that much of a difference? A 285 is 10mm wider than your current tire, doesn't seem worth it to me. There are a lot more choices of tires in the 275 size then 285's. Good luck.
