Default Keep stripping the studs when putting draglites on

All,

everytime I put my draglites on (15x10 back 15x3.5 front) I strip one or more studs and have to get them repaired or replaced... I will put the draglites on, hand tighten, lower the car and torque to 75ft/lbs.. Today I took the wheels after going to the track and doing some hard launches and two studs were completely stripped..

I have changed other wheels out numerous times and never had this problem.. It is very frustrating.. Just wondering if I am missing something ovious??

75 ft/lbs? I do between 90-100 ft/lbs as well as many others, may want to try that.

Are you using spacers? If so....sometimes the spacer is not aligned/centered on the studs. The end of the lug shank will hit the spacer and not allow the lug to tq. down properly, hence stripping a stud.

I use a dab of RTV on the spacer....let it skin over and center it on the studs prior to wheel placement to keep this from happening.

Also agree w/AlexWS6...75 lbs. ft. sounds a lil' light. I do 90 on my DragLites......

Ive been there. Stripped 13 studs one time at the track. What a nightmare. The problem was, the studs were too short, and it would strip the top few threads every time I started putting the wheel on. I got 3" studs, and that cured the aggravation. Now I can start the nut well before it goes into the wheel.

Try checking your bolt pattern. I remember one time at work we stripped 2 or 3 studs for every wheel and we couldn't figure out why. It ended up being the wrong bolt pattern. Two sizes will go on a f-body but only one will bolt up right. I think f-bodies are 5x4.75.
