275 on 9"?

275 on 9"? I'm getting a set of 17x9 10 spoke SS wheels for my T/A. I believe the stock size tire runs 255/45/17, right? Those will run in front for sure, but I'm wondering if it is possible (safe/cool) to slap on 275/40/17 on the rears?
I know it would clear and I know the centerbore is smaller on the 98+ f-body wheels. Had a similar problem with the oe Y2k C5s I had and got spacer/adapters to take care of that.

You can run 275's on the front and rear on that size rim. 9" and higher are safe to run 275's...I would recommend running all 4 tires that size too, that way you can rotate tires.
My ZR1's are 17x9.5 and I run 275's on all 4.
