to keep them from dry rotting just keep in a storage maybe in trash bags and lay them on the backs. i also stole a blanket from uhaul to put underneath them. that way i wouldnt have run out anywhere on the tire.

Also, try and keep them away from sources of ozone (electric motors, etc.), and definitely keep them from freezing!! (This hardens/heat cycles/changes the molecular structure of, the nice sticky summer compound, rendering it much less effective when you reinstall them in the spring.)
