Wanted: Winter Wheels
Wanted: Winter Wheels I am lookig for a set of 16x8 wheels for my 98 Z28. Last winter destroyed my stock chrome 5 star. I am looking for some painted wheels that i can throw my tires on just for the winter months. Don't have to look pretty, just be functional. Looking to spend no more than 250 for the set. Might consider any wheel that would fit, i.e. "salad shooter", "abs", "snow flake", etc.
A couple of ideas...TireRack, and other tire dealers, DO have a 16x8 steel wheel for the 4th gen cars. It's not too expensive. Second option, there was a set of 4 Continental ContiExtremes, mounted on the aforementioned steel wheels on e-bay a while back for $350. The seller claimed they only had a few hundred miles on them, and they were asking $350 for the whole set-up.
I clicked on "follow the auction", but didn't bid....and neither did anyone else. I used to get follow up e-mails up until very recently from e-bay on them. It might be worth a look.....

I've got 2 sets of 10 spoke snowflake 16x8's. One set that's good with some OK Goodyear Eagle RA's for $225 for the set of 4 or another set that have trashed tires and have a couple scuffs for $150. I'm in Michigan so I would prefer not to ship and could meet you part way since you're in Indiana. Whichever set I don't sell is going on my V6 for the winter.
