Default Stripping/polishing ws6 wheels

I have a chance to pick up a set of '00 ws6 wheels and marginal tires for under $300. However, the clearcoat isn't in the best shape on the wheels.

I've read that you can strip the clearcoat and polish them but I'm not sure if I'm causing myself more trouble than it's worth. Would I be better off finding a set in better shape? or is the deal too good to pass up?

I was wondering the same thing.....please let us know. I know I did a set of IROC rims and the only concern was keeping them clean and not letting them get corrosion built up.

I just did a set, took about 45 min per wheel. I used aircraft stripper to get the clear off (15min). Then used a very high quality polish compound (not sure if theyu are sponsored on here). I can get pics of the final product if you like. PM if you want/need more details.

The wheels are pretty much already polished under the clearcoat. It is just a matter of removing the clear and polish as normal.

Let me know if you need any advice. I have done several sets.
