315 on a 9.5 rim...?

you should really have a 10-11 inch rim to be safe...If u are only tooling around locally..you can get away with it....I know a guy who has Yokahama 315's on a 9" stocker...and he is still fine after 2 years of driving[like a granny]. Depends which brand you choose..some are wider...hope someone else chips in...315mm should be 315mm.???

It defeats the purpose of a 315. The tread gets rolled up to make up for the lack of rim width. The tire is forced out of shape, will handle improperly and has a potential to fail.
The manufacturer's provide the wheel width parameters for their tires for a reason.
10.5" wheel width is the minimum recommended.
