Not all 3rd gen wheels are the same size?!?!?!
Anyway... Pushed the 87 back on the driveway (that was a chore.. lol) got it all up on stands.. put the camaro next to it.. jacked it up.. got the wheels off the 87.. took the first wheel off the 85.. but it on the 87.. no big deal....
Put the 87 wheel on the 85.. got halfway on.. and CLUNK.. clunk clunk clunk.. WTH? CLUNKCLUNKCLUNK Why won't this go on... look behind it.. its hitting the SHOCK!?!?!?!?
Take them off.. put them side by side.. and the 87's are about an inch deeper than the 85s!! ****! Is there a way to change this so the 87s fit on the 85????
I'm gona be PISSED if I just spent $300 on tires for the 87 rims for NOTHING!!!

If they are GTA or later Formula wheels the deeper offest wheels go on the front (more "lip") and the shallow ones go on the rear. If they are "turbo style" Formula/TA wheels (you said 87 so if its a Bird thats what it would have) or IROC rims the ones with the deeper lug nut holes go on the back.
I know way too much about 3rd gens....

EDIT: also if your putting them on a drum brake car you will need a 1/4in spacer on the rear wheels to make them fit right. Factory drum brake/16in drum brake cars had them from the factory.
