biggest 40 series tire?
Hey guys,
The back of my Camaro is raked pretty high because of the drag racing air bags and springs in the rear. I have BFG Drag Radials in the rear (315/35/17) and they're very small -- look goofy -- and do not fit the rear wheel well at all.
So I'm thinking outloud here... what is the widest 40 series tire I can put in the rear? a 315/40/17?
Thanks in advance,
-Dan

The largest 40 series 17 tire I see in my system is a 285.40.17. They are only .3" taller and they are 1.18" skinnier.
The only tire I see close to fitting your wants/needs would be a 335.35.17 but you would have to test fit it to see if it will fit, it is .79" wider and .55" taller.

Thanks guys!
I did make the post a little premature before conducting proper research. I think I am going to stick with a 315/35 and just remove some of the air in the bags. It seems like its the best bet. Nothing beats the look of the 315 from a side profile or rear vantage point. Yes, we're talking about a 17 inch rim.
Thanks again.
