For the rear tires of an 02 Z28, does anyone know the advantages and disadvantages to having say a 15" rim with a tire profile of 60 as opposed to having an 18" rim with a tire profile of 35? The car will be for recreational street/drag use. Not for everyday driving.

 

A taller profile tire will hook better because the sidewalls will give a little. Low profile tires have very stiff sidewalls, which make them more prone to spin. Of course, there are a lot of variables, such as what type/brand of tire you are running.

This is why you see top fuel drag cars and funny cars with tires with huge sidewalls in the back and not sitting on 24's.
