Whats a cheap drag only setup?
The summit star wheels are pretty economical and fit our cars pretty well (less grinding that prostars, and look virtually identical). They use stock lugs and studs and don't require spacers. If you're going track only you could get those rims and run an et front or similar lightweight front tire on them to help compensate for them weighing about 4 lbs heavier per wheel up front. Then run a slick in the rear instead of a dragradial to save weight there. They come in a 15x4 and a 15x8, plenty of wheel for a 28x12.5x15 et street style tire.
The rears don't take much grinding at all. I already had clearanced my LT1 rear calipers (lt1 3 channel swap rearend in the car currently) for 15x10 prostars on my car a few months back so they fit no problem with plenty of clearance. It doesn't take NEAR as much material off as even a 15x8 prostar does. The fronts are iffy. Most people have no problem with them fitting. BUT if you just changed your pads recently or plan on doing it in the near future, be prepared to take a little off the front calipers, depending on pad thickness.
Anyone know how well these fit on both front & rear?? I'd imagine about the same as the Summit brand but I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure from personal experience.
