Some help with lowered TA please...
I installed a set of DMS springs and Bilstein HD shocks to the stock suspension. Then I installed a set of 18" x 9.5" chrome c5 wheels on 275/35/ZR18 rubber onn all four corners. When doing tire rotations, i noticed that the inner top of the tire (edge of the tread) contacts the wheelwell a little (probably on hard bumps) This makes me wonder on whether I should have:
1- Used axle relocation brackets when i lowered it
2. Used spacers on the wheels
3. A taller bumpstop
4. All of the above
I just emailed TomzWheels about purchasing a set of these wheels with tires, and they commented that since the suspension has been modified, they couldnt really tell me what sizes I need. Here's a transcript of the email: "Sirs; I am interested in purchasing a set of wheels and tires from you for my 2000 Pontiac Trans Am, but before I do, i'd like to get some more information. I currently have 18x9.5 chrome C5 wheels on 275/35/zr18 hankook tires right now. The rims have bad curb rash, and the hoops are corroding rather badly. The rear tires contact the inside/frame of the wheelwheel on bumps due to the car being lowered slightly. I am interested in purchasing the O.E. C6 Z06 Chrome Combo Set 17x9.5 & 18x10.5 in conjunction with a good tire. Since I have 9.5'"s now and they rub on bumps, would I need a spacer or specific offset to prevent this from happening again? Also, what tires do you recommend with these wheels? I currently am using the Hankooks, because they have a better treadwear which is important to me, as the car is a daily driver. Could you please recommend a package under $1500 for me with these wheels, good rubber, and any specific spacers or wheel offsets in order to alleviate any rubbing problems? Thank you.
Since the vehicle has been modified I am not sure what will fit. If the 18x9.5 hit, I am sure the 18x10.5 will hit. If you use spacers, they may just hit on the outside fenders. You could try a 17x8.5, but that is the narrowest I can get. I am sorry but without a test fit I do not know what sizes you can run.
Thanks

Obviously since we're not in the same country I can't get them sest fitted. Notice how in the email Katrina never mentions price or tries to push a specific product on me. That speaks highly of them, since they aren't sure what I need they won't recommend anything.
So Has anyone car setup similarly? Can anyone give me some advice on tires and suspension mods I have to do to get these wheels/tires to fit? I't thinking I may need 5/16" spacers since the 18x10.5's have a 58mm offset. I think it's possible I may have to roll a fender lip as well, but maybe not. Thank you in advance for your input.
