A 315 tire in the back with require you to do some hammering yes but the question is will 18x10.5 rub. However what you need to keep in mind is the tires you are gonna be running. Say you go with some 275/40r17s for the front. That will give you an overall diameter of 25.7. Now when you go with the rear tire you would have a couple decisions to make. One would be do you want the same amount of sidewall as the front. This would most likely be the way to go. So if you go with a 285/40r18 in the back that would give you an overall diameter of 26.9. This would give you a difference between the front and the back. Obviously there is a 1.2 inch difference in their diameter. 1 inch of difference is the rim and which would mean there you would have .2 more sidewall in the back than the front. I would think you would be ok in terms of clearance there. The main time people run into problems with clearance is with a 315 tire in the back.
Another option that you could do is run a 255/40r17 in the front giving you an overall diameter of 24.9 and running a 285/35r18 on the rear which would have an overall diameter of 25.9. The extra inch is in the rim diameter thus giving you the same sidewall height in the front and the back. This setup would definitely not give you any clearance problems. And ovbviously this would also give you a lower profile look. Either way i dont think you would have any clearance problems going with a 285 tire in the back.
Hope my long saga helps you out!!!!
