Hooking up BFG DRs
Hooking up BFG DRs What is the best way to hook up on BFG DRs? What pressure and what kind of burn out? I have been told to just spin the tire slightly. Going to the track today and would like to improve upon my 60' 
Re: Hooking up BFG DRs BFGs dont require as much heat as a Nitto DR..but more than just a cleaning. Depending on your power...and your launch technique Id at least do a 5second burn. Make sure they smoke. Some guys will do an impressive John Force style burn every time (me), but its not that necessary.

I tried quite a few different psi settings and burnout times, and found that my best launch was at 16psi with a burnout that lasted till almost the top of second gear. That got me in the 1.6X range with a soft launching low STR 'verter (SY3500) and only a couple bolt-ons at the time. 
Re: Hooking up BFG DRs Thanks guys. Went to the track last night and the best 60 I could get was a 1.85. That was leaving around 4500 and the car was still bogging. Part of the problem is my cam setup that could be fixed with a little more gearing.
