Default Widened Rims?

im just wondering if you have rims "widened" does it loose strength or anything, any downsides to it? im thinking of having two of my 9.5 TT2's widened to 11's. thanks

Why don't you buy both 11's from tomzwheels instead of going through this, it might cost you less money and you won't have to worry about it, anyways...

I had mine done by Weldcraft Wheels. I had my 9.5" WS6 wheels widened to 11" it cost me $585.60. $275.00 per wheel and $35.60 to ship back to me, for a total of $585.60. I'm looking at my receipt right now....

If it costs around $600 to do it, I would definitely buy a pair of 11's TT2's for that much and have the 9.5's reserved for future need, that way you would have perfect and unmodified rims as well as some extra ones in the garage.

SLPHawk300 widened his WS6 wheels because they don't mak'em that big, but why widen TT2's when they sell them, if you see what I mean.

That is what I would do if I had TT2's. I wish I could just buy some 11" wide Y2k's, but I will just have to get mine widened.

Widening is only 250 a wheel and about 200 if you supply your own wheel stock. The wheel doesn't lose any strength doing that, but you should just buy the rears because an 11" wheel will require a different offset than your 9" wheel. More than likely you would have to run a 1" spacer to get the wheels to look right if you widened your current wheels.

Damn, thats a great price. I was talking to local places. I'd much rather pay shipping fees and save 40%.

Do you have a link?
