Rims I have a '00 WS6. The rims on it are chrome 5 spoke. Where the spokes are somewhat rounded on my rims, I've seen (possibly '01+) rims that have spokes that are more flat and a small indent to them. Anybody know what I'mn talking about,what year(s) are these on,got a part#....thanks......
Re: Rims The '01 and newer WS6 came with the more squared off looking spoke wheels, which are actually just the old design of Firehawk wheels from the LT1 era. Personally, I prefer your smoother type since they dish inwards instead of having spokes that kind of stick out.
BTW, none of the factory WS6 wheels are "chrome". They are just high-polished aluminum with a sprayed on clear coat paint. Just FYI

My 2001 ws6 has the "more rounded" older WS6 rim.
How ever I did not know that they were clear coated. I thought they were just polished alum.
If that is the case what is the best way to get these things to really shine?

If you are intersted in the '01-'02 WS6 wheels, I bet you could trade yours off for them. MOre people want that style over the new style. I've seen several threads on (the other site) of people looking to do just this- trade their new style WS6 wheels for the older style.
If you want a set- just post up and I bet you get a bite.

Re: Rims It's my understanding that earlier built 01 models had the rounded style (skinnier spoke) WS6 high polished alum. clear coated wheels and the later ones had the fatter spoke high polished aluminum clear coated wheels (mine has). Mine was built in March of 01. I first noticed these fatter spoke wheels on a 95 "Comp TA". I didn't like the wheels at first, but the more I see with the skinnier spokes, the more I like mine because there aren't as many around. And, I keep those babies shinin' just by waxing them with the same wax I use on my paint and I wash them thoroughly every time (about once a week) so brake dust and debris never has a chance to collect on them.
I don't think I'd ever get rid of my stock wheels even if I did get different ones because I'd like to keep all of my stock parts. I like the looks of the "Firehawk" 17" wheels (chrome)-those would be my choice...
