Default 26x12 tire on 15x9 wheel?

I bought some rims that has new tires and they are M/T sportsman S/R's 26x10's and they look really skinny. They grip really good better then nitto's and i love the design of the tire. Do you think it will be ok to switch over to the 26x12 M/T sportsman S/R's the website says

Approved
Rims
8.0-10.0

Im running 15x4's with a 26x7 on front 3" difference. So im sure it will be fine. Both front and rear tires would be 3" widder then wheels. If i go to a reg street tire i was going to run 295/50's and that is on 26.6x11.6 so only .40" skinnier and i know those are fine
