Default Help my Wheels are stuck on the hubs!!!!

I have a set of wheels that are stuck on the wheel hubs. They are speed lines that I put on my LT1. They have a lip that a milled away but I guess not enough. Any ideas on how to get them off. I have tried WD-40 and yanking and pulling. Is there a tool that pushes things apart for wheels?

I personally have hit them off with a rubber mallet from behind when I hadnt filed down the lip enough. That worked for me, not sure if its the best way though.

Where they jammed on pretty good? Where did you hit to get the most force?

ya they were jammed good. Just hit the bottom of the tire, and it should break it lose.

The bottom? Not the back? How big of a hammer?

Ya the back, bottom part of the tire(hit the tire outward). Any rubber mallot should work IMO.

Had it happen several times with mine. I've got a swapped LT1 rear on my car as well. I usually take off the center cap, shoot some wd40 in the hole, let it sit a min or 2. With the car supported by a jackstand on each side I usually kick the wheel as hard as I can from outside the car, then laying under/behind the rearend (don't break any toes!). If you jar them enough they'll pop off. Yes, sounds redneck, but it should work.

I have done the kick method before. Just sit down facing the wheel and using your heels just kick it lightly alternating side to side and rock it off. Before putting them back on, put a little bit of anti-seize on the outer part of the axle hub.

i work at a tire shop and this is very common, usually corrosion in between the wheel and the hub causes it. just get a big rubber mallet and smack the inside of the wheel (on the edge of rim) as hard as u can from the inside, it really just takes some brute force

My buddy had this happen. When used this stuff for stuck bolts and crap on it and some WD-40. We put the car on jackstands, he pulled on the wheel while I was beating on the tire from below with a rubber mallet. It eventually came off.

little help...put one lug nut on the wheel, dont tighten it all the way just put it on good...thus when you do kick the **** out of the rim...its not going to come popping off on the back of your ankle...also, pb blaster works great...i usuall just kick the side of the tire...

This is correct! I own a tired shop and that is how you get it off..Rubber mallet tho.. This car shouldn't have rust in there, normally Cutlass ciera's,Accords, civics, cars like that have that problem, not Camaro's or Firebirds.. I think the hub hole might be too tight..

Thanks every body. I used some PB blaster and the rubber hammer and it worked like a charm.
