Default Firestone Firehawk wide oval

I am about to buy Firestone firehawk wide oval I was wondering what you
guys think about these tires? I have a 1999 ls1 formula with 16" 245 50 zr.
Right now I am running GOODYEAR EAGLE GSC I like these tires, will the Firestone perform as well? Thanks!

i recently bought a set of z06 wheels with the Goodyear eagle f1's and the dude replaced them with black wheels with the wide ovals and he said the the almost bald f1's hooked better than the new wide oval's. no personal experience

Thanks for posting! my first choice is f1 gsd3 zr.
I am trying to save a couple bucks! wide oval seems like a
good bang for the buck!

i have the wide oval right now on my rear z06 wheels, 295/35/18, they dont hook the best, but there ok and they deffinetly take a good beating!!! ive hit some curves and bumps and they still dont get any air bubbles or damage! definetly best bang for your buck, and they look real nice i think!! not to mention tread wear is real good, they'll last a good while!

i am sporting the wide ovals also.. they are better than sumitimo but worse than something like a gsd3. I am enjoying the free tire rotations at firestone though(bought tires at tirerack ). THey hook ok but if you seriously worry about hooking get the nittos..

I have had
GS3
F1's
KDWS
Kumho MX's
RSA's

I really like the kumho low tread rating but I still got 26k miles with one rotation, but I think the wide ovals are a tad batter. IN the wet there GREAT! I got 400 rwhp + and they hook great too....so I don't see how anybody could say there not a great bang for the buck there like 250 dollars cheaper than a set of gs3's and cheaper by more than the TA BF last time I looked. I would highyl suggest the tires

The wideovals are well thought of in the Corvette world. The owners on Tirerack have pretty much all good to say. I have been reading up on the Sumitomo HTR Z 3's on TR. I can get them locally in the 275/40/17 size for $98. I'm beginning the believe nothing in a street tire actually "hooks".

yea like everyone says they hook ok. im runnin them right now and the good things about them is if you get a flat or need them rotated just take it up to firestone and the will do it for free or like 10.
also i got a flat in mine and drove about 2 miles before i noticed it. (right rear) the only reason i did is because i took a turn. but im still runnin that same tire and never had another problem
