Default Tell me what u think?

I'm thinking of getting a set of the FURY Boyd Codd.
18x9 with 265/35 YOKO AVS Sport-(front)
18x10 with 295/35 YOKO AVS Sport- (back)
I already have the tires.
PICS of wheels in site below.

http://shop.sportruck.com/bcodd/gotcha/fury.htm

Feedback please. It's for my 2001 Artic White Z28 with SS hood and RK Sport 800 kit with Sport wing. (Red stripe from hood over to back)

The fury wheels look sweet in the photo with the deep dish offset it has, but from my experience the ones built for the f-boyd cars are built with a much flatter offset and the wheel loses it look with such a small wheel lip. If you heart is set on the dished look be sure to call Boyds and ask what the lip size is before you place your order or you might be dissapointed at the final look IMO.

As far as tire sizes go I have 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rear tires and the OD and side wall height between the two tires is quite noticable. IMO the od size difference betwen the 265/35 and the 295/35 is too much for my taste and will drastically rake the vehicle when looking from the side. Plus a 268/35 will look smaller in the wheel well compared to say a 275/35 and the fender to tire gap will be increased in the front. So I would suggest you look at lots of cars in person and on line to see the look of staggered tire sizes before you spend your hard earned $$$.

Good Luck!

Thanks SS LS1,

What size lip I should be looking at? Frnt/back

I like your ride, veeery sweet, better than your dad's IMO.

How much did u lower urs? It has a killer stance.

On your site, in the 1st pic at Berlin, mine looks like the white one in front of yours, but with a body kit.

Thanks for the compliments!

The wheel lip size is a personal thing as to what you want on your car, but IMO the Fury wheels look sweet with a deep dish and look BLA with a flush profile. The stepped lip design is offered in wider sizes and most likely deeper offsets but you will only know what is offered when you talk to them in person or on the phone.

I myself prefer the smooth reverse lip design (also known as the Fat Lip) as it gives a cleaner appearance to the wheel and allows a 1" larger center to be used on the same tire size. i.e. an 18" wheel will use a center from a 19" stepped lip wheel so the appearance is more dramatic (looking like 19's) but you still have more sidewall rubber with the 18" tires. But..........the Fat Lip wheels are limited in widths and lip sizes, which is exactly why I went with a 3pc forged wheel from iForged.

For reference Budnik Tiller 5 Fat Lip wheels in 18x10" that I looked at could only be built with a measily 1 3/4" lip where my 18 x 9.5" front wheels have a 2.5"lip and the 18 x 10.5" rears have a massive 3.5" lip. So it just depends on what you like for your car as to what lip sizes to look for.

My car has been dropped by 1.5" with DMS springs. The front starts at about 1.3" and later settles to about 1.5". The rear used to sit up higher but I removed the rear spring spacer to lower the rear another .5" FYI.

I hope that helps a little. Do some research by looking at all the pics of everyones awesome cars on this board and decide what look you want for your car as a set of wheels can make or break the look of a car.

Good Luck on your search!

Yeap you were right. Called Boyd and they told me +48 mm offset and 1.4 inch lip front & 1 3/4 back.
I asked if they could make 2'/frt and 3'/bck but the said no.
Gotta keep on searching.
