looking for a drag look
looking for a drag look looking for a tire and rim combo for my 2001 black ss that will give it a drag look for street and show use. I was thinking of running a 28 tall 16" or 15" rear. Some thing about the same with as my stock 275's also want to run a front that is tall enough for my abs not to freak out. i like the pro stars to give you an idea of what I like. So i would like to see what others have done to accomplish this look.
In order to not trip the ABS your just going to need the same height tire in the front as the rear. 28 rears look alot better on our cars, but a 28 front would look horridly stupid. So I guess I'd suggest 26''s all around if your worried about the ABS. I personally have 28 rears and 26 fronts and love the look.
What size rim are you running on the rear? If 15's how bad did you have to grind on the calipers to make them fit? Also I dont want to have bfh my fender so I probably need to keep to a 10.5 or so unless some one know a off set and rim combo so i can fit a wider tire. I would probaly just yank the abs asr fuse when i run the 28s. I also want to go to a 3.73 or 4.10 rear. If i dont side step the clutch would the thing hold together. Any pics coments or sugestions are highly appreciated thank you all.
I have 15x10 7.5 backspace rears and 15x3.5 fronts. The fronts require no grinding and the rears require some, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. First side took me about 20 minutes, other side took me about 5 knowing what had to be taken off and how much.
