Default tires rubbing

anyone know why both rear tires on my car would be rubbing on the outside edges when i hit a dip or a big bump in the road (against the inner portion of the outside of the fender well, the part that most people roll when running 315+ tires....not the inner wheel well lining)?

i'm only running 275's.....my wheels are 17"x9.5" with a 7" backspace (which Centerline says equals about a +41mm offset), with GS-D3's. these specs fall within the range posted in the sticky thread:

9.5" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275, 285
the edge is starting to cut into my tires a little, which can't be good for them....the last thing i need is for the tread to separate from the rest of the tire, due to being cut around the tread line.....

it's a tiny bit worse on the passenger's side, but it's happening on the driver's side a bit, also, so i don't think just adjusting the PHR is going to make a difference. i'm running Koni 4/4's with Strano springs also, and the rear shocks are set to (i think) 1/2 a turn from full soft. is it possible that just stiffening up the rear shocks will keep this from happening?

no one has any ideas why 275's would both be rubbing in the back with the wheel size/offset specified?

yeah, i'm probably gonna end up rolling the fenders anyway, but it's just Strano springs....plenty of people have 275's on Strano springs, and i've yet to see anyone else posting about having this same issue

i wonder if it's possible my rear Koni's have bombed out on me....i sure hope not....

i'll probably try cranking up the firmness in the rear when i get home in the morning to see if it changes anything at all....i guess if the feel of them doesn't change, they're hosed, and i'll need to get them replaced.....but at the moment, the rear doesn't really feel "floaty" at all, so i dunno....

A 41 mm offset will bring the tire edge close to the wheel well lip, especially on a lowered car, and could cause the tire to contact the wheel well lip.

Unfortunately the only fix is to roll the quarter panel lips, or put in taller rear springs.
