As for the rear panel, you know I am biased, I like a slight "sheen" to the rear panel, gives it a more "finished" look, vrs flat, which can look like a primed peice. I do not like it gloss though.
The black infill on the scoop . . . I'm really not a huge fan, especially when it is all by it self. If you want a stripe what about a manta, or a manta like striping around it . . .
I agree that I was never a fan of the flat painted. I do like the gloss on my color car, but I think having it like yours (red car) might be better. If memory serves me correct you did yours with a semi-gloss black paint? (Which is what I would also use on the headlights).
I was always a fan of the manta but for some reason just don't see it on my car. The manta like striping similar to what Steve had on his old SS might look good if I get it in the semi-gloss black? But for some reason I'm still stuck on the 35th LE center stripe.
Yes the tail on the red car is satin/semi gloss black.
The black scoop peice is OK, is justs looks incomplete with no stripes around the scoop.
If you were to do a manta(ish) stripe over the car to complimnet the black accents, grille, lights, tail panel and emblems, I would consider charcoal grey . . .
Possibly throw in the center stripe, if anything I can always remove it. I've considered charcoal grey for both stripes, but wasn't sure since I don't have to many items in that color (Grille, calipers, some engine bay stuff all in cast coat iron).
