Power window problem
Power window problem My driver's side window will stop operating for up to 5-10 minutes at a time. It will work normally then just stop. If I wait just a minute or two, I can get the window to move an inch or so then it stops again. If I wait several minutes, I can usually get it to return to the full up or full down position.
I first noticed this on a very hot day, but now it does it even at low (70F / 15C) temperatures.
Any ideas what I can do to fix it? Do I need a new window motor? The window seems to operate smoothly and at a normal speed when it functions properly.

Re: Power window problem Replace the motor with a Siemens motor from Autozone. My SS was doing the same thing(driver's side). I bought a new motor at Autozone for like $70.00 and it comes with a lifetime warranty. Make sure you grease up the regulator (I used white lithium) and I trimmed away a little of the black rubber on the edge of the doo to help reduce friction. Re: Power window problem It might not be the motor. I thought the motor was bad in my car too. I even had it replaced. But when it started going out intermitently, I noticed that when playing with the window controls, a buzzing sound was coming from the power window control module. Basically the module was fried. It is located under the driver side dash. You have to remove the knee bolsters (where the trunk release button is) and get access to it. It is easy to find. I have a procedure from a GM manual if you want it.
