Been a while since I've wired subs up
Question is this, do I just run 2 ground and 2 positive wires off of each speaker the to the amp? The amp is only a 60x2 so i was thinking about bridging it since the subs have a max 175 rating. How do I run the speaker wire to the amp if I do that? If I remember correctly, I just take all the negative leads on put them on one (-) terminal on the amp, and do the same for all the positive leads to the (+) terminal.
I dunno if this is important or not, but when I had the new JVC deck installed they installed new speakers and ran their own wire, basicaly... factory amp is still in the car, but not being used I guess.

2. take both - leads of the subwoofer and solder them together
3. repeat steps 1 and 2 on the other subwoofer
*now both subwoofers are wired as a 2ohm load
*if you bridge the amplifier you probably need to use a 4ohm load
4. run a positive and negative wire from each subwoofer to the amplifier
5. in order for the amplifier to see a 4ohm load you need to wire both subwoofers in series.
6. take the positive wire from the drivers side subwoofer and plug it into the positive bridged terminal of the amplifier.
7. take the negative wire from the drivers side subwoofer and solder it to the positive wire of the passenger side subwoofer.
8. take the negative wire from the passenger side subwoofer and connect it to the negative bridged terminal of the amplifier.
9. set the gain by turning the volume up to 3/4 of max, play a 60Hz test tone, use a digital voltage meter to measure the output of the amplifier, turn up the gain until you read 26.5V, this will give you 175W which will be 87.5W per channel, then you can fine tune the settings.
